He could have just got over it. Or he could have told an adult? Which doesn't work so I guess I disagree with that. It shows that the Indians that lived oh the Rez were way more physical. The "white people" are more mental bullies. They use words and no action. It shows how different there culture is. Maybe?
I totally agree with bailey because Junior couldnt of done anything different to get them to stop calling him names. I also agree that the indians are more physical at fighting and th the whites are more mental bullies.
He could of tryed telling an adult, but that probably wouldn't of worked because it kind of seems like some teachers wouldnt care that kids were calling him names. He could also ignore them when they called him names but that wouldnt of worked because then they wouldnt stop calling him names. Junior couldnt really of done anything different to get them to stop calling him names. The fight tells us that the whites arent really into fighting there more mental bullies and that indians think they should fight if someone is going to bullie them or if they think someone is going o bullie them there more physical bullies then mental.
I think that if Junior would of told them his real name he wouldn't of gotten made fun of. The fight is really weird. People say that Indians are stronger than white people and that the white people are always scared to fight an Indian.
Junior could've reacted differently by being the bigger person and handling the situation the right way. He could've went to an adult and had them deal with the situation but I guess he probably would've got made fun of for that also. The difference between a white bully and a Indian bully is that the Indian bully will fight back and the white bully wont. The white bully is more of a vocal bully.
I guess Junior could have acted differently. He could have just ignored it and been the bigger person and left. He could have told an adult but i dont know how much that would have actually helped.White people wont fight and idian back.
He could of tried telling him to stop making fun of him. He could of tried to tell someone that he was getting bullied. Junior was raised to fight if anyone was making fun of him. The people at his school almost seemed like they were raised to mentally abuse someone.
He could have told someone or ignored it. Ignoring it would have been better considering nothing would have really changed by telling someone. They seem to mentally abuse others instead of physically like back at Junior's old school.
He could have just walked away. He still would have been picked on but he would have some time to get over it. At his old school people hurt others by hiting them and at his new one they just call eachother names.
Junior could've just ignored it. He knew that if he did that, it would never end, though. He punches Roger in the face and then they all just think he's crazy. It illustrates that Junior was raised with a social code where fights are regular, accepted things. Now he's in a town where they don't fight and he doesn't understand that at first. He thinks that Roger will get revenge on him. Instead, Roger just realizes that he should stop with the name-calling.
I totally agree with that. It was good for Junior to stand up for himself, but he didn't think it would end like that, he thought Roger would get revenge.
Personally, i think walking away from being bullied just never works. You can keep walking away, and they'll just keep doing it. I probably wouldve done the same thing to tell them to shut up. It's easier said than done, but it is Definitely going to work better than ignoring the situation. And being that Junior showed that he wasnt just a little kid that wouldnt do anything to fight back, a agree that he gained respect from the situation.
i think that you shouldn't walk away, you should stand up for yourself, though it may hurt you physicially because he'd probably punch you. thats only temporary, in the long run it makes you a stronger and better person. and yeah i agree that he gained respect
You see when you get bullied you do one thing.. One thing. you get back up. like MJ was told he wasnt good enough for varsity do you think he sat down. NOO. he got back up and dunked on them fools. he then made expenssives shoes and clothes and underwear. He should have just looked them bullies in the face and been like "one day, Ill have more money then you, having relations with way more females than you, have way more friends than you, and way more purpose to live than your lowlife self...." and yeah that should work
I dont think that a fight should have ever happened. Its okay to stand up for yourself, but only to a certain point. violence is never the answer. If you are getting bullied then you should tell an adult. if an adult won't do anything about it then avoid the bullies at all costs.
I think Junior could have just moved on and let them keep pickin on him. They would most likely eventually stop if he showed that it didn't bother him. But it wasn't a bad idea to stand up for himself either. It kind of shows that The cultures are much different. Native Americans are most physical and try to hurt people.where "white people" try to hurt them mentally.
He should have told an adult but I totally understand why he didnt... walking away would have been the "samrt" choice but in all honesty.. it's hard but fighting is never the answer...

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with bailey because Junior couldnt of done anything different to get them to stop calling him names. I also agree that the indians are more physical at fighting and th the whites are more mental bullies.
Deletei agree with Baily because the rez kids probably have a rougher life than the white kids so they are more used to maybe standing up for themselves.
DeleteBailey i agree with you as well. White people dont seem to be as tough in this book as the idian people.
DeleteThat is probably the best way to put it, totally agree.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you Taylor. Teachers won't do anything about it.

ReplyDeleteI disagree with you. He did tell them his name. They're not even really making fun of him about his name. They're mostly just racist slurs.

ReplyDeleteI agree there were many things he could of done differently.
DeleteI agree becuase there is a lot of different things that he could have done. He could ahave been the bigger person but he didnt.
DeleteI agree, i don't think a lot would have really changed if he just ignored it or told someone, but i don't agree with the fighting..

ReplyDeleteyeah i agree with you kenzie. they are mentally abusive to people instead of physically.

ReplyDeleteI think it would be better to tell someone. They wont stop bothering you but it is a good thing to talk about your problems.

ReplyDeleteyyeah , a-Rud I totally agree makes perfect sence to me.. but remember it's easier said than done!

ReplyDeletei agree cuh, ignoring the situation only makes things worse and in the long run it'll make you feel even worse
Deletei agree with you completely but instead of saying shut up you should just smile back and say "cool!" and give them a thumbs up

ReplyDeletehe should have explained why he was called junior,to the native americans that was his name and in there way it is common to have multiple names.
ReplyDeleteI agree Zach its a very good point
